Sharp has announced yet another device after the AQUOS Crystal 2. This one is a phablet known as the Sharp AQUOS Xx. It also sports a bezel-less design. Lets have a look at its specifications.
Sharp AQUOS Xx Specifications
The Sharp AQUOS Xx features a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080) Full HD S-CG LCD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box. Due to bezel-less design on the top, the front-facing cameras along with couple of sensors are placed below the display and the earpiece speaker has been replaced with bone conducting technology, much like its predecessor, AQUOS Crystal X. However, Sharp has decided to drop the Crystal branding on this flagship device.
It is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and CMOS sensor. On the front, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The bezel-less phablet is 8.7 mm thick.
On the connectivity front, the Sharp AQUOS Xx has 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. It packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood.
The bezel-less phablet will be available in white, black and red colour variants around June in Japan. There is no information on the pricing as well as global roll out yet.
Sharp is mainly known for manufacturing displays for other brands and the company has recently developed a 5.5-inch 4K UHD IGZO LCD display with a pixel density of 806ppi.
