Samsung Z2 has been officially launched in India at an event in New Delhi today. It runs on Tizen OS, which has been developed by Samsung itself. Lets check out the specifications and features of this budget smartphone below.
Samsung Z2 Specifications
The Samsung Z2 features a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) WVGA TFT display, that is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 1 GB of RAM along with 8 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Tizen OS 2.4 out of the box.
The S Bike mode that was introduced with the Galaxy J3 (2016), has made its way into this handset as well. It is a new mode for bikers that will let them activate pre-recorded message for all callers, motion lock feature to ensure that the rider stops before answering, urgent calls filter and more by just activating the mode by tapping on the NFC tag.
The Samsung Z2 comes equipped with a built-in app called My Money Transfer, that will enable the users to easily manage transactions and generate mini bank statements. This is a first of its kind initiative, where users can enjoy convenient internet free banking by simply using the unique MMID, which can be linked to the registered smartphone via M Pin set by the user. Money transfer to/from popular private and public banks is supported using standard IMPS.
On the camera front, the Z2 rocks a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture. There is a 0.3 megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM (micro), comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It also has an Ultra data saving (UDS) mode, which is powered by Opera Max and it compresses cellular data across all contents. The body of the phone is 10.8 mm thick.
On the connectivity front, the Z2 comes with 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The smartphone packs a 1,500 mAh battery under the hood.
The Samsung Z2 is available in Gold, Wine Red and Black color variants. It has been priced at Rs 4,590 in India and will be selling exclusively via Paytm (online) and offline retail stores starting from August 29, 2016. The consumers will get Jio Preview offer with this smartphone, where the customer will get unlimited access to 4G data, voice calls and Jio Apps for 90 days.
