Samsung W2016 flip phone with dual 3.9-inch HD Super AMOLED displays officially launched in China

Samsung W2016 flip phone (SM-W2016) has been officially announced in China. It is the latest premium flip smartphone from the company. Lets look at the specifications.

The Samsung W2016 flip phone features dual displays (Super AMOLED) – one on the outside and on inside, both of which are 3.9-inches and come with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. It is powered by a octa-core Exynos 7420 (Quad 2.1 GHz + Quad 1.5 GHz) 64-bit processor. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 64 GB of internal memory which cannot be expanded via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box with TouchWiz on top of it.

The W2016 flip phone rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for selfies and video calling. It is 15.1 mm thick which is a lot considering how slim the smartphones are these days and weighs 204 grams. A metal frame runs around the body and we get a glass back as well.


On the connectivity front, the W2016 flip smartphone has 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE and apt-X. It packs in a 2,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging on both wired and wireless modes.

The Samsung W2016 flip phone will be available in Golden and Silver color variants. There is no information on the pricing and availability yet. The company had launched the Samsung G9198 flip smartphone in China back in August.
