Samsung sold over 100,000 units of Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in first 2 days in Korea

Samsung has started selling the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in over 60 countries, including its home turf Korea from March 11. Now, according to Korea’s Yonhap News, Samsung has reportedly sold more than 100,000 units of Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in South Korea, in the first two days of sales.

The report is based on the industry data that has revealed that Samsung has sold 60,000 units on Friday and 40,000 units on Saturday. There is no information on individual numbers but it says that the Galaxy S7 edge has accounted for about 40% of two-days sales.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED always-on, pressure sensitive display that comes with a pixel density of 577 PPI. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor or an octa-core Exynos 8 8890 (Quad 2.3 GHz + Quad 1.6 GHz) 64-bit processor, depending on the region. It comes with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and has 32/64 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. One the camera front, the Galaxy S7 rocks a 12 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture and Smart OIS. The Dual pixel rear camera is promising brighter and sharper images, even in low light. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 152 grams. It comes with a heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor and Barometer as well. It is also water and dust resistant since it is IP68 certified. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano) where the user can swap the second SIM card to put in a microSD card.

The Galaxy S7 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports both wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) fast charging.
