Samsung SM-G9198 visits TENAA – a Flip phone powered by Snapdragon 808

Gone are those days when we saw numerous phone designs where flip phones were a popular lot. After, Apple launched the iPhone back in 2007, it’s all about touchscreen phones with same candybar form factor. But Samsung is trying something different with the new Samsung SM-G9198 packing a Snapdragon 808 SoC in a flip form factor.

The Samsung flip phone was seen at TENAA in China and it packs in high-end specifications. Lets check them out.

Samsung SM-G9198 Specifications

The Samsung SM-G9198 features two displays – one on the outside and on inside, both of which are 3.91-inches and has a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit processor, which is also found on the recently launched LG G4. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.

The SM-G9198 rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 16.7 mm thick which is a lot considering how slim the smartphones are these days. It has 4G LTE connectivity as well.

The new flip phone with top of the line specs from Samsung might launch soon but may not come out of China, like the SM-G9808.
