Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge starts selling in India

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge was officially launched in India on March 10 for Rs 48,900 and Rs 56,900, respectively. These devices were on pre-order and goes on sale in the country starting today. It is available from Samsung’s online store, Flipkart and offline retailers across India. It will soon be selling on Amazon India as well.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED always-on, pressure sensitive display that comes with a pixel density of 577 PPI. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 8 8890 (Quad 2.3 GHz + Quad 1.6 GHz) 64-bit processor. It comes with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and has 32 / 64 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI on top of it. It has a 3D glass and metal design and features internal cooling system that will keep the device from overheating. Hopefully, no more ‘heating issues’ for Galaxy S7 then.

One the camera front, the Galaxy S7 rocks a 12 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture and Smart OIS. The Dual pixel rear camera is promising brighter and sharper images, even in low light. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 152 grams. It comes with a heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor and Barometer as well. It is also water and dust resistant since it is IP68 certified. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano) where the user can swap the second SIM card to put in a microSD card.

The Galaxy S7 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports both wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) fast charging. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is available in Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Gold Platinum color variants.
