Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge starts rolling out in Australia, Europe, Korea, Singapore and USA

Samsung has announced that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge has started rolling out in Australia, Europe, Korea, Singapore and USA since yesterday. The company also officially launched the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in India earlier this week, priced at Rs 48,900 and Rs 56,900, respectively. It can now be pre-ordered and goes on sale starting from March 18, 2016.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED always-on, pressure sensitive display that comes with a pixel density of 577 PPI. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor or an octa-core Exynos 8 8890 (Quad 2.3 GHz + Quad 1.6 GHz) 64-bit processor, depending on the region. It comes with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and has 32/64 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI on top of it. It has a 3D glass and metal design and features internal cooling system that will keep the device from overheating. Hopefully, no more ‘heating issues’ for Galaxy S7 then.

One the camera front, the Galaxy S7 rocks a 12 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture and Smart OIS. The Dual pixel rear camera is promising brighter and sharper images, even in low light. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 152 grams. It comes with a heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor and Barometer as well. It is also water and dust resistant since it is IP68 certified. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano) where the user can swap the second SIM card to put in a microSD card.

The Galaxy S7 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports both wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) fast charging.

If we look at the pricing of these flagship smartphones in USA, the Galaxy S7 costs around $699.99 whereas the Galaxy S7 edge is priced at $779.99 (might vary because of carrier or store). In UK, it costs 569 GBP and 639 GBP, and in Europe, they are priced at 699 Euros and 799 Euros, respectively. These pricing are for the 32GB variants and the 64GB models will not go on sale in most parts of Europe, UK and USA.
