Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in India expected to start at Rs 49000 and Rs 59000 respectively

Samsung India is all set to launch the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge at an event in Delhi tomorrow. Both these smartphones were announced at the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event in Barcelona on February 22.

Ahead of the event, folks at FoneArena have found out the pricing of these devices. According to them, the 32GB of the Galaxy S7 will be priced at Rs 49,000 whereas the Galaxy S7 edge will cost Rs 59,000. There are no details about the 64GB variant’s pricing yet, however, it is expected to cost Rs 6,000 more than the 32 GB variant. Also, Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in China earlier today for CNY 4888 (INR Rs 50,339 approximately) and CNY 5688 (INR Rs 58,583 approximately), respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED always-on, pressure sensitive display that comes with a pixel density of 577 PPI. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor or an octa-core Exynos 8 8890 (Quad 2.3 GHz + Quad 1.6 GHz) 64-bit processor, depending on the region. It comes with 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and has 32/64 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI on top of it. It has a 3D glass and metal design and features internal cooling system that will keep the device from overheating. Hopefully, no more ‘heating issues’ for Galaxy S7 then.

One the camera front, the Galaxy S7 rocks a 12 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture and Smart OIS. The Dual pixel rear camera is promising brighter and sharper images, even in low light. It comes with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 7.9 mm thick and weighs 152 grams. It comes with a heart rate sensor, fingerprint sensor and Barometer as well. It is also water and dust resistant since it is IP68 certified. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano) where the user can swap the second SIM card to put in a microSD card.

The Galaxy S7 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports both wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) fast charging.
