Samsung Galaxy S6 in India has been officially launched at an event in Delhi, as promised. The latest flagship smartphone will start at Rs 49,900 for the 32GB variant. Online e-commerce giant Flipkart was teasing the device and few models are already on pre-order.


Samsung Galaxy S6 in India has officially made its way and will be available across India from April 10, 2015. It was predicted to be priced around Rs 50,000 in India, after Samsung Netherlands started taking pre-order.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 in India is available in white pearl, black sapphire, gold platinum and blue topaz colour variants and has been priced at Rs 49,900 for the 32GB variant, Rs 55,900 for 64GB and a whopping Rs 60,900 for the 128GB variant. It will be also be available on Flipkart. Lets have a look at the specifications of Samsung Galaxy S6 in India.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 in India features a 5.1-inch (2,560 x 1440 pixels) QHD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 577 ppi, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered 2.1 GHz octa-core Exynos 7420 processor which will set records on benchmarks. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and has 32/64/128 GB of internal memory which cannot be expanded. It runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. Samsung Pay with payment solution comes with the device after the company acquired LoopPay. It comes with fingerprint sensor similar to Apple’s TouchID and heart rate monitor. The device is 6.8 mm thick and weighs only 138 grams.

One the camera front, the Samsung Galaxy S6 rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. Users can click pictures with ‘Pro’ mode which has the capability to shoot images in RAW format and can also control shutter speed. Samsung has also worked with their gallery app and they have made it more user-friendly.

The Galaxy S6 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, GLONASS, microUSB 2.0, infrared and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone is powered by a 2,550 mAh non-replaceable battery under the hood with fast charging. It also comes with new wireless charging.
