Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ officially launched in India for Rs 57900

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has been officially launched in India. The phablet was announced on August 13 at the Galaxy Unpacked event.


The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in India has been priced at Rs 57,900 for the 32GB storage variant. This is line with the unlocked price in USA. The device will be available in Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colour variants and will be going on sale starting from August 28 in the country. The Keyboard cover for Galaxy S6 Edge+ has been priced at Rs 4,599. Lets check out the specifications.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ features a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super AMOLED dual edge display with a pixel density of 518 ppi, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by octa-core Exynos 7420 (Quad 2.1 GHz + Quad 1.5 GHz) 64-bit processor. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and has 32 / 64 GB of internal memory, which cannot be expanded via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with TouchWiz on top to it. It comes with a new feature called Apps Edge. It has a similar design like the original S6 Edge. Samsung Pay goes out of beta and will start functioning from August 20. It has KNOX Active Protection and My KNOX app to protect sensitive data (personal and work).

One the camera front, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash along with f/1.9 aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. Users can click pictures with ‘Pro’ mode which has the capability to shoot images in RAW format and can also control shutter speed. It has heart rate sensor on the back and fingerprint scanner on the home button. It comes with an infrared LED for smart TV remote and other gadgets. It is 6.9 mm thick and weighs 153 grams.


The Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2 LE & apt-X, GPS, GLONASS and NFC as connectivity options. The phablet is powered by a 3,000 mAh non-replaceable battery under the hood with fast charging, which charges it completely in 90 minutes. It also comes with new fast wireless charging which charges it completely in 120 minutes.
