Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 to be introduced in the J series

Samsung Galaxy J1 was the first ever smartphone in the J series. It looks like other devices will soon be joining the J1. Galaxy J5 and J7 are expected to launch soon and will be put in the mid-range segment.

Samsung Galaxy J1 is a budget smartphone which costs Rs 7,449 in India now. Two new handsets named Galaxy J5 and J7 will be launching soon as mid-range devices in the J series. SamMobile has revealed the specifications of the upcoming Galaxy J5 and J7. These names were already trademarked by Samsung in January.

Samsung Galaxy J5 Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (SM-J500F) will feature a 5-inch TFT LCD display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. It will come with 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD slot. The device will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top of it.

The Galaxy J5 is expected to be 8.5 mm thick and weigh 149 grams. On the camera front, it will rock a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone will pack a 2,600 mAh battery under the hood. On the connectivity front, it is expected to come with 4G LTE along with the usual WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (SM-J700F) will feature a 5.5-inch TFT LCD display, powered by a 1.2 or 1.5 GHz octa-core Marvel PXA1936 processor. It will come with 1.5GB of RAM, 4/8GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD slot. The device will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top of it.

The Galaxy J7 is expected to be 7.9 mm thick and weigh 170 grams. On the camera front, it will rock a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. The phablet will pack a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood. On the connectivity front, it is expected to come with 4G LTE along with the usual WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS.

However, we can see a 8 megapixel rear camera on both the devices instead of a 13 megapixel shooter due to cost cutting measures. There is no information on launch date or pricing of the Galaxy J5 and J7 yet.
