Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) with 5.2-inch Super AMOLED HD display goes official

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) has been officially announced in China, along with the new Galaxy J7. These are the successors of last year’s Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7. Lets check out the specifications and features of the new Galaxy J5 here.


Samsung galaxy J5 (2016) Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) features a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display that is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with Adreno 306 GPU. It comes with 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top of it.

On the camera front, it rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. There is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and 120-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It is 8.1 mm thick and weighs 159 grams. The smartphone supports Dual SIM and comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack.


On the connectivity front, the new Galaxy J5 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and NFC. The smartphone packs a 3,100 mAh battery under the hood.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is available in White, Pink and Gold color variants and will soon go on sale in China. The company has not announced the pricing and details about the global roll out yet. Check out the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) edition as well.
