Samsung Galaxy C5 with 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 617 SoC goes official

Samsung Galaxy C5 has been officially launched in China, along with the Galaxy C7 phablet. It is the first smartphone with full metal body in the new ‘C Series’. Lets check out the specifications, pricing and availability of the device now.

Samsung Galaxy C5 Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy C5 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display, that is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (Quad 1.5 GHz + Quad 1.2 GHz) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It comes with 4 GB of RAM along with 32 / 64 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top of it. There is support for Samsung Pay as well.

On the camera front, it rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. There is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for selfies and video calling. It comes with a full metal body, which is 6.7 mm thick and weighs 143 grams. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/microSD), comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button.

On the connectivity front, the Galaxy C5 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and NFC. The smartphone packs a 2,600 mAh battery under the hood that supports Quick Charge 3.0.

Samsung Galaxy C5 launched in China

The Samsung Galaxy C5 is available in Silver, Grey, Pink Gold and Gold color variants. It has been priced at CNY 2199 (US $336 / INR Rs 22,449 approximately) for the 32GB model and CNY 2399 (US $366 / INR Rs 24,494 approximately) for the 64GB variant. The smartphone can be pre-ordered via several online stores in China now and will go on sale starting from June 17, 2016. There is no information about global roll out yet.

The Samsung Galaxy C7 has also been launched in China today. It has been priced at CNY 2599 (US $396 / INR Rs 26,537 approximately) for the 32GB model and CNY 2799 (US $427 / INR Rs 28,579 approximately) for the 64GB variant. However, there is no information on the availability yet.
