Samsung Galaxy A9 was officially unveiled on December 23 at an event in China. It is the most high-end device in the ‘Galaxy A’ series. The company, however, did not announce the pricing or its availability during its launch.
A Weibo user in China has managed to scrape out the pricing of the latest phablet from Samsung. It is rumoured to be priced at CNY 3199 (US $493 / INR Rs 32,770 approximately) in China. However, we must take it with a pinch of salt and wait for the official confirmation from the company.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A9 features a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (Quad 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2 GHz A53) processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The phablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.
The Galaxy A9 comes with a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture, S5K3L2 sensor and Optical Image stabilization (OIS). On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for better selfies and video calling. It comes with the same metal and glass design that is premium like the other Galaxy flagship devices. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button that supports Samsung Pay as well. It supports Dual SIM (nano).
The Samsung Galaxy A9 includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, ANT+, GPS, and NFC (UICC, eSE) as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 4,000 mAh battery under the hood with fast charging capabilities. The Samsung Galaxy A9 2016 is available in White, Gold and Pink color variants.
