Samsung Galaxy A9 has been officially announced at an event in China today. It is a huge phablet that has the most high-end specifications in the ‘Galaxy A’ series. It was teased couple of weeks back. Lets check out the specifications of the device.
Samsung Galaxy A9 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A9 features a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (Quad 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2 GHz A53) processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The phablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.
The Galaxy A9 comes with a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture, S5K3L2 sensor and Optical Image stabilization (OIS). On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for better selfies and video calling. It comes with the same metal and glass design that is premium like the other Galaxy flagship devices. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button that supports Samsung Pay as well. It supports Dual SIM (nano).
The Samsung Galaxy A9 includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, ANT+, GPS, and NFC (UICC, eSE) as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 4,000 mAh battery under the hood with fast charging capabilities.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 2016 is available in White, Gold and Pink color variants. There is no information on pricing or availability yet. Also, the 2016 edition of Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 has been already announced by the company.
