Samsung Galaxy A8 phablet now official with fingerprint sensor

Samsung Galaxy A8 has been officially announced in China, after it was spotted on TENAA. Lets go through the specifications of the latest phablet from Samsung.


Samsung Galaxy A8 specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A8 features a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core (4 x 1.5 GHz Quad A53 + 4 x 1.0 GHz Quad A53) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and has 16 / 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top of it. It has ultra-narrow bezels with a full metal uni-body design and also packs in a fingerprint sensor on the home button.


On the camera front, it rocks a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It is just 5.9 mm thick and weighs 151 grams. It will have Dual SIM support depending on the market.

On the connectivity front, it comes with 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS/GLONASS. The phablet packs in a 3,050 mAh battery under the hood.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 is available in black, white and gold colour variants. There is no information on the global launch or pricing yet.
