Samsung Galaxy A8 with 5.9mm thickness listed on TENAA

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A8 has been certified by TENAA in China. The phablet has been in news for sometime now and it will most probably be launched soon. Lets go through the specifications.


Samsung Galaxy A8 rumoured specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A8 will feature a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core (4 x 1.5 GHz Quad A53 + 4 x 1.0 GHz Quad A53) processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It will come with 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD slot. The device will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top of it.

On the camera front, it will rock a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It will be just 5.94 mm thick and weigh 142 grams.

On the connectivity front, it will come with 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS/GLONASS. The phablet will reportedly pack a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood.

If the thickness is correct, the Galaxy A8 will become the most slimmest smartphone / phablet from Samsung till date. It might also come with a fingerprint sensor on its home button. There has been no speculation about its pricing yet. We are expecting it to be launched soon as it has been certified in China.

Recently, Samsung launched the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 in China.
