A successor of the Samsung Galaxy A7 is coming soon. It was spotted in several benchmark listings and has now been certified by TENAA in China. Lets take a closer look at the specifications and design of the upcoming phablet.
The Galaxy A7 (SM-A7100) successor will have a design that is similar to the Galaxy S6 as it comes with a glass back with curved sides and also a metal frame around the body. The phablet will supposedly come with the same 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display present in its predecessor but will have a slightly curved glass on the front. Also, it will come in two CPU variants – one will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 process and the other one will have an octa-core Exynos 7580 processor. The new Samsung Galaxy A7 will feature a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display. It will be powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Exynos 7580 processor along with Mali-T720 GPU in one variant and 1.7 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor along with Adreno 405 GPU in another model. It will come with 3 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. It will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The Galaxy A7 will rock a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It will be 6.95 mm thick and weigh 155 grams. It might have Dual SIM support depending on regions.
The new Galaxy A7 will come with the usual 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS/GLONASS as connectivity options. We do not have any information about the battery capacity yet.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 will be available in Golden color according to some of the listings, however, it will come in other color variants as well. The phone is expected to be announced sometime in the near future.
