The latest smartphone in the Galaxy A series has been announced by Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy A7 is now the third smartphone in the series which is also the slimmest at just 6.3 mm with an unibody metal design. It was earlier spotted in a FCC listing. Recently, the two other smartphones from Galaxy A series went on sale in India.
The Galaxy A7 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display which is powered by Exynos 5430 Octa-Core (1.8 GHz Quad A15 + 1.3 GHz Quad A7) processor with Mali T628-MP6 GPU for LTE (Single SIM) variant. The LTE/3G (Dual SIM) variant comes with a Qualcomm 615 Octa-Core (1.5 GHz Quad A53 + 1.0 GHz Quad A53) with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest version of the TouchWiz on top of it. Hopefully it will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well.
The Galaxy A7 comes with a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear primary camera with LED flash. It is also capable of recording Full HD videos. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens for better selfies and video calling. It is just 6.3 mm thick which makes it the slimmest phone ever from Samsung and weighs 141 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 includes 4G LTE/3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS/GLONASS and NFC (LTE version only) as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,600 mAh battery under the hood which supports Ultra Power Saving Mode to provide more juice through out the day.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 will be available in White, Midnight Black and Champagne Gold colour variants and has been priced at 509 Euros (USD 600/INR Rs 37,500 approximately). The device will go on sale starting from the first quarter of 2015.
