Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 edition officially launched in India for Rs 29400

Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 edition has been launched in India today along with the Galaxy A7. The company had launched the 2016 edition of A3, A5 and A7 in December last year. Lets take a look at the specifications and features of the Galaxy A5 2016 edition here.


Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display that is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core Exynos processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.

The Galaxy A5 comes with a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture and Optical Image stabilization (OIS). On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture for better selfies and video calling. It is 7.3 mm thick and weighs 155 grams. It comes with the same metal and glass design that is premium like the other Galaxy flagship devices. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button that supports Samsung Pay as well.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and NFC (UICC, eSE) as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,900 mAh battery under the hood with fast charging capabilities.


The Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 edition is available in Gold, White and Black color variants and has been priced at Rs 29,400. It will be sold exclusively (online) via Snapdeal starting from February 15, 2016. Airtel customers will get a bundled offer of 30GB data for 6 months. The new Galaxy smartphones will also be sold via retail stores and hence isn’t online exclusive.
