Samsung files a new patent for the upcoming ‘Iconic UX’

Earlier this year, Samsung has modified their Touchwiz UI and it was put into play in their flagship Samsung Galaxy S5. There were numerous leaks earlier this year which hinted for a new custom UX, which was not exactly the Touchwiz UI.

Korean tech giant Samsung has filed a patent at Korean Intellectual Property Office, and the first images of this UI dubbed ‘Iconic UX’. The leaked photo is quite similar to the images filed in the patent.

In the new Iconic UX, user can use multi finger gesture to expand or contract different home screen widgets like calendar, music player, photo gallery and much more. User can also achieve many functionality by swiping across the screen. We will get to know more as more leaks surfaces.

There is currently no word on when Samsung plans to release the new version of the UI, it can be released sometime next year clubbed with Samsung’s latest flagship. Chances are the new UI will be offered on the Galaxy S6 that will launch next year.
