Sachin Tendulkar to launch Smartron on May 19 in India

Sachin Tendulkar, who has recently invested and also became the brand ambassador of Smartron, had launched the Smartron 12.2-inch Windows 2-in-1 in India last month. The company had promised to launch its at a separate event on April 18 in Hyderabad, however, it got delayed due to some issues. Now, Smartron has sent out media invites to the press for the launch of the on May 19 at an event in Hyderabad. Lets check out the specifications of the device.

Smartron Specifications

The Smartron will feature a 5.5-inch display but we do not know the resolution and other details about the display yet. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It will come with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box and might be upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the near future.

It will rock a 12 megapixel rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 4 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It will support dual SIM and come with a 3.5 mm audio jack. According to the company, it will be the lightest 5.5-inch smartphone ever.

On the connectivity front, the will come with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth and GPS. We do not have any information on the battery capacity yet.
