Redmi Note 4G and Redmi 1s to go on sale on January 13 at 2pm on Flipkart

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and the Redmi 1s will go on sale on January 13 at 2pm and 5pm respectively, on Flipkart as usual. In order to participate in the flash sale, you need to be registered. Registrations close today at 11:59 pm.

For the second time, two Xiaomi phones will go on flash sale on Flipkart, although at different time. The Redmi Note 4G will go on sale at 2pm and the Redmi 1s will go on sale at 5pm today. If you wish to buy any of the above devices successfully, be sure to login around 1:45pm and 4:45pm respectively. Both the Redmi Note 4G (50,000 units) and Redmi 1s (20,000 units) went on sale on January 6 and sold out in 5 and 4 seconds respectively.

50,000 units each of both the Redmi Note 4G and Redmi 1s will go on sale tomorrow. There will be more demand for the Redmi Note 4G, as it’s just the third flash sale. The Redmi 1s has been in the Indian market for a while and has become a bit saturated. The successor of the budget smartphone, Redmi 2 was also announced couple of days back. Redmi Note 4G is also available via Airtel Stores.

10,000 units of YU Yureka will also go on sale tomorrow for the first time exclusively on Amazon India at 2pm. There will be fierce competition between these two devices.

Redmi Note 4G


Redmi Note 4G is a budget phablet from the Chinese manufacturer. It has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LED IPS Display with 267 ppi. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 covering.  The phablet is powered by 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8982 processor with Adreno 305 GPU. Redmi Note 4G weighs 199 grams and is 9.45 mm in thickness.

Redmi Note comes with 2 GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD card. It will come preloaded with Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI v5 on top and will be upgraded to MIUI 6 along with Android 5.0 Lollipop in the future, hopefully.

On the camera front, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calling. The rear camera has f/2.2 aperture lens and can record 1080P videos. Redmi Note 4G comes with 3,100 mAh lithium polymer removable battery under the hood. It is a single SIM phablet unlike the Redmi Note 3G which is dual SIM.

The Redmi Note 4G includes 4G LTE/3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS + AGPS as connectivity options.

Redmi 1s


Xiaomi Redmi 1s is a budget phone from Xiaomi which is priced at Rs. 5,999. It has a 4.7 inch 720P LED IPS Display with 321 ppi. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 1.6GHz processor. On the camera front, it has a 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.6 megapixel front facing camera for selfies. It comes with a 2050 mAh removable battery. It has AGC Dragontrail scratch resistant glass instead of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Xiaomi Redmi 1s has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It weighs 158 grams and is 9.9 mm in thickness. It comes with an expandable storage slot which can fit in SD cards up to 64GB. It will come preloaded with Android 4.3 JellyBean (upgradable to 4.4 Kitkat) with MIUI v5 on top. It is a dual SIM phone with only one SIM supporting 3G.

Recently, kernel source of Redmi 1s was released by Xiaomi. Xiaomi is looking to bring in the Mi4 in the Indian market soon and hopefully by end of January, we can buy it in India.
