Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A2 rugged tablet with Marshmallow goes official

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A2, the latest rugged tablet for the enterprise market, has been officially announced. Lets have a look at the specifications and features of this tablet.

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A2 features a 10.1-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) WUXGA IPS 10-finger multi-touch outdoor display with Anti-reflective screen. It is powered by a 1.44 GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8550 processor (up to 2.4 GHz) along with Intel HD graphics 4000. It has 4 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB internal memory, which can be further expanded via microSD card. The tablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of box and also includes Android for Work. It has a ruggedized magnesium alloy body, which is also shock resistant and can withstand drop from 120 cm.

The Toughpad FZ-A2 comes with a 8 megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash and a Full HD front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is IP65 certified and hence it is water and dust proof. It packs in an integrated business expansion module (Smartcard Reader, Hot Swap battery, NFC), however it is optional. The tablet has a fan-less design, that is 16.4 mm thick and weighs 880 grams.

The Toughpad FZ-A2 includes 4G LTE (optional), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, USB 3.0 Type A, USB 3.1 Type C OTG, HDMI and GPS as connectivity options. It packs in a user replaceable battery that will last up to 9 hours on a single charge.

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-A2 starts at GBP 939 (US $1333 / INR Rs 89,474 approximately) and will go on sale starting from July 2016. Earlier, Panasonic Toughpad FZ-Q1 was launched back in January this year.
