OPPO has announced the OPPO U3, which is the latest phablet in the U series. Recently, the company launched the OPPO R15 which is priced at USD 400. Let us look at the specifications of the device.
OPPO U3 Specifications
The OPPO U3 features a 5.9-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with 75% screen-to-body ratio. The phablet is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6752 64-bit processor with Mali-T760 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. OPPO U3 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest Color OS 2.0 custom skin on top of it. Hopefully it will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop as well. The phablet is 8 mm in thickness and weighs 195 grams.
The OPPO U3 houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It has a Sony IMX214 sensor with f2.0 aperture. The camera can capture 50 megapixel images with the help of Super Zoom mode by combining four shots. On the front, it comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for your selfies and video calling. The phablet has Dual SIM (micro + nano) and also has a AK4961 24-bit ADC.
The OPPO U3 includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS as connectivity options. The U3 houses a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood which uses OPPO’s proprietary VOOC mini rapid charging system. The back side of the phablet has a diamond pattern which looks cool.
The OPPO U3 will be available in Black and White colour variants and the pricing hasn’t been announced by the company yet. It will go on sale in China soon and there is no information about global launch.
