OPPO R9 Plus with 4GB RAM, 16 MP front camera, 6-inch display goes official

OPPO R9 and R9 Plus has been officially announced at an event in China today, as expected. Lets check out the specifications of the premium flagship, OPPO R9 Plus here.


OPPO R9 Plus Specifications

The OPPO R9 Plus features a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display and a screen-to-body ratio of 79.3%. It is powered by an octa-core (Quad 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2 GHz A53) Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (620) processor along with Adreno 510 GPU. It has 4 GB of RAM and comes with 64 / 128 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with the latest ColorOS 3.0 custom skin on top of it. The body of the device is made up of 6063 aluminium alloy.

The R9 Plus houses a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, Sony IMX298 sensor, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), which is capable of shooting 4K videos. On the front, it comes with a 16 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 78.1-degree wide-angle lens for your selfies and video calling. It has Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano + Nano) support where the second nano SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot. It is 7.4 mm thick and weighs 185 grams. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button which can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds.


The R9 Plus includes 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet houses a 4,120 mAh battery under the hood which supports VOOC Flash Charge. A 5 minutes charge will give up to 2 hours of talk time.

The OPPO R9 Plus is available in Rose Gold and Golden color variants and starts from CNY 3299 (US $509 / INR Rs 33,946 approximately). It will go on sale from April 12, 2016. There is no information on global launch yet.

The OPPO R9 has also been launched today for CNY 2799 (US $432 / INR Rs 28,793 approximately) CNY 3299 (US $509 / INR Rs 33,946 approximately). It can now be ordered will go on sale in China starting from March 24, 2016.
