OPPO A59, the latest phablet in the ‘A’ series has been officially unveiled in China. Lets go through the specifications of the device now.
OPPO A59 Specifications
The OPPO A59 features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS 2.5D curved display, that has a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The phablet is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 64-bit processor along with Mali T860 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with the latest ColorOS 3.0 custom skin on top of it.
The A59 houses a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). On the front, it comes with a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1.4 micron pixel sensor for your selfies and video calling. It has Hybrid Dual SIM (nano) support, where the second nano SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot. It comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded into its home button, which can unlock the device in under 0.22 seconds. It has a full metal unibody design that comes with Zirconium metal finish, which is 7.38 mm thick and weighs 160 grams.
The A59 includes 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet houses a 3,075 mAh battery under the hood.
The OPPO A59 is available in Gold and Rose Gold color variants. It has been priced at CNY 1799 (US $274 / INR Rs 18,331 approximately) and can now be pre-ordered in China from the official OPPO online shop. It will start shipping from June 18, 2016. There is no information on the international roll out yet.
The company had recently launched the OPPO F1 Plus FC Barcelona Edition. It will be available in China, Indonesia, Singapore and few more markets by mid-June. However, the pricing will depend on the market and will be revealed closer to the launch date.
