OnePlus One has been launched in Malaysia, finally. The company has partnered with Maxis, who are Malaysia’s leading communications service provider.
The OnePlus One is now available without invite globally but for the first time it will go on sale in stores. Malaysia becomes the first country where the OnePlus One will be available in local stores which was made possible after associating with Maxis. This is the company’s first carrier partnership which is because of Maxis’ expansive reach and commitment to service.
The OnePlus One in Malaysia will be available from April 22 from all Maxis outlets across the nation. The 64GB Sandstone Black variant along with MaxisONE Plan (with contract) is priced at RM859 (US $236). If you wish to buy the unlocked and off contract model, it will set you back by RM1199 (US $330).
On this occasion, Carl Pei, Co-founder of OnePlus said,
“As we grow, it is increasingly important to work with the right partners who will provide the best experience for our users. Going offline is a first for us and we’re very happy to have found a solid partner in Maxis with whom we can take our first steps.”
Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, Maxis’ Head of Consumer Business said,
“In the Internet age, we know what our customers crave: the best devices at competitive prices. We are proud to be working with another cool and innovative brand that holds such individuality around the world. With an attractive MaxisONE plan package and a superior data network, our customers can expect nothing short of a thrilling mobile experience.”
The OnePlus One users in Malaysia will get a one year limited warranty and Maxis will offer after sales services at Maxis Centres nationwide (including 1 to 1 device swap until the end of May) for the first month. For more information on support, check out Maxis or OnePlus Malaysia websites.
