OnePlus 5 launches exclusively on Amazon India, price starts at Rs. 32999

OnePlus had unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5 at on online event earlier this week. The flagship smartphone was launched in India at a launch event in Mumbai yesterday. It boasts of dual rear cameras, where the secondary camera is used for capturing depth information for depth-of-field (bokeh) effect in portrait mode and also offers 2x lossless zoom. The OnePlus 5 feature a 5.5 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved Optic AMOLED display, which has DCI-P3 color coverage, sRGB, pixel density of 401 PPI and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 64-bit processor along with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of internal storage (UFS 2.1) / 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, which cannot be expanded further since it does not have a microSD card slot. Out of the box, the device runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. There is a new Reading Mode, which uses gray-scale mapping to provide an e-Reader like reading experience.

The OnePlus 5 rocks a dual camera setup at the back – a 16 megapixel primary camera with dual LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, Sony IMX398 sensor, 1.0µm pixel size, EIS and a 20 megapixel secondary camera with f/2.6 aperture, Sony IMX350 sensor, 1.12µm pixel size. It can shoot 4K videos at 30fps, Full HD at 60fps and slow motion video HD (720p) at 120fps. On the front, there is a 16 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX371 sensor, 1.0µm pixel size for clicking selfies and making video calls. It can record Full HD 1080p videos. The body is made up of anodized aluminium, which is 7.25mm thick and weighs 153 grams. It has a ceramic fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button, which will unlock the device under 0.2 seconds. It supports Dual SIM (nano), comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, Dirac HD Sound and 3 microphones with noise cancellation. It also retains the alert slider button to switch between No Notifications, Priority Notifications and All Notifications.

The OnePlus 5 includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MU-MIMO, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0 aptX HD, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, NFC and USB Type-C as connectivity options. It packs in a 3300mAh battery under the hood with support for Dash Charge. It promises one day of battery life with 30 minutes of charge.

The OnePlus 5 Slate Gray with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM is priced at Rs. 32,999, while the Midnight Black with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM is priced at Rs. 37,999 in India. It is being exclusively sold on Amazon India from June 22 as a part of early access sale. It will go on open sale via OnePlus India Online Store, Amazon and OnePlus Experience Stores in Delhi and Bengaluru from June 27, 2017.
