The most hyped Android device, the ‘flagship killer of 2016’ – the OnePlus 2 has been officially announced, finally at the first VR product launch event. Lets look at the specifications of the latest flagship killer from OnePlus.
OnePlus 2 Specifications
The OnePlus 2 phablet features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD in-cell IPS display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The display has a pixel density of 401ppi. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 64-bit processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3 / 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and comes with 16 / 64 GB of internal memory which cannot be expanded via microSD card.
The device runs on their own in-house custom ROM called OxygenOS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It comes with ‘Dark Mode’, ‘Color Mode’. There is a brand new Camera UI, which allows the users to take 50 megapixel photos, slo-mo video (120fps), time-lapse videos. It has a magnesium alloy metal frame running around the body with polished silver buttons. There is a fingerprint sensor integrated on the new home button that is also dubbed ‘faster than Apple’s TouchID’. It has an alert slider button to switch between No Notifications, Priority Notifications and All Notifications.
The OnePlus 2 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, 1.3 micron lens, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Laser Focus and f/2.0 aperture. It can shoot 4K videos as well. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM and has a 3.5 mm audio jack. It is 9.85 mm thick and weighs 175 grams.
The OnePlus 2 includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 & 5 GHz dual band), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and GLONASS as connectivity options. It has a USB Type-C port and the other side (USB-A) is also reversible, which has been patented by OnePlus. The phablet packs in a 3,300 mAh battery under the hood.
The OnePlus 2 is available in SandStone Black and also comes with four new swap style covers. It has been priced at US $329 (INR Rs 21,100 approximately) for 3GB RAM + 16GB ROM variant and US $389 (INR Rs 24,950 approximately) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model. OnePlus will be setting up pop-up stores in nine of the most popular cities around the around, which includes Bangalore and New Delhi in India as well, starting from July 31. It will help the consumers to know more about the ‘flagship killer of 2016’.
