OnePlus 2 has received a permanent price cut of $40 today. Now, the smartphone will be available for $349. It was introduced back in July last year. According to OnePlus, “Additionally anyone who purchased the OnePlus 2 within the last 15 days, will be seeing a refund in price ($40, or the equivalent in your currency) in their account.”
The OnePlus 2 64GB edition’s price cut is only applicable for the units being purchased from the official portal, OnePlus.net. Hence, it will not be beneficial for all the countries, yet. Indian consumers will have to wait and see if Amazon and OnePlus decides to reduce the price or not, since OnePlus 2 16GB variant was just launched in the country, priced at Rs 22,999 (Rs 2000 less than 64GB variant).
Regarding the price cut of OnePlus 2, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, said:
“We learned a lot from our first flagship phone. The invite system helped get the OnePlus 2 off the ground, and now thanks to both timing and scale, our operations have sized up to the Goldilocks principle of just right. So, why not let our fans join us in celebrating the fruits of our labor? The OnePlus 2 now has a price modification of $349, forever. If you’ve ever needed to give a friend another reason to join Team OnePlus, here you go.
