OnePlus 2 16GB variant officially launched in India for Rs 22999

OnePlus 2 was introduced back in July last year and it came in two variants – one with 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage and another with 3GB RAM and 16GB of ROM. Initially, OnePlus only sold the ‘better’ variant worldwide but finally the company has now launched the OnePlus 2 16GB model in India.


OnePlus 2 16GB Specifications

The OnePlus 2 16GB phablet features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD in-cell IPS display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The display has a pixel density of 401ppi. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 64-bit processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which cannot be expanded via microSD card.

The device runs on their own in-house custom ROM called OxygenOS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It comes with ‘Dark Mode’, ‘Color Mode’. There is a brand new Camera UI, which allows the users to take 50 megapixel photos, slo-mo video (120fps), time-lapse videos. It has a magnesium alloy metal frame running around the body with polished silver buttons. There is a fingerprint sensor integrated on the new home button that is also dubbed ‘faster than Apple’s TouchID’. It has an alert slider button to switch between No Notifications, Priority Notifications and All Notifications.

The OnePlus 2 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, 1.3 micron lens, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Laser Focus and f/2.0 aperture. It can shoot 4K videos as well. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM and has a 3.5 mm audio jack. It is 9.85 mm thick and weighs 175 grams.

The OnePlus 2 16GB includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 & 5 GHz dual band), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and GLONASS as connectivity options. It has a USB Type-C port and the other side (USB-A) is also reversible, which has been patented by OnePlus. The phablet packs in a 3,300 mAh battery under the hood.

The OnePlus 16GB variant has been priced at Rs 22,999 in India and will be sold exclusively via Amazon India. Now, OnePlus 2 can be purchased without an ‘invite’ as it has gone on open sale.
