Xiaomi is preparing to launch a compact and powerful smartphone to take on the new 4-inch Apple iPhone SE in China. An unknown Xiaomi smartphone with a 4.3-inch display and Snapdragon 820 chipset under the hood has surfaced on Weibo.
According to a report on Gizchina, this new 4.3-inch Xiaomi device has been codenamed as M2 SE. Lets check out the rumoured specifications of the this compact but powerful smartphone.
Xiaomi M2 SE Rumoured Specifications
The M2 SE will feature a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display that will be powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It will pack in 3 GB of RAM along with 32 GB of internal storage, which might be expandable via microSD card. The device will run on MIUI 7 based on Android Marshmallow OS.
Coming to the camera department, it will rock a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash but will however miss out on the OIS. There is no information about the front camera yet. In terms of design, it looks very similar to the recently launched flagship smartphone, the Mi 5 and also comes with a physical hone button, which is likely to be embedded with a fingerprint sensor.
On the connectivity front, it will come with 4G LTE with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB OTG. The smartphone will pack in a 2,350 mAh battery under the hood that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
According to the rumours, the Xiaomi M2 SE will sport a price tag of CNY 1799 (US $278 approximately) and should launch in June, 2016. In other news, the Mi 5 is scheduled to launch in India on March 31.
