New renders of Moto E second generation spotted

Motorola Moto E is one of the most sold smartphones in India by the company. It was one of the first budget smartphones offering good hardware in India sold exclusively on Flipkart, before likes of Asus Zenfone and Xiaomi Redmi 1s entered the market. The second generation Moto E specifications were leaked a while back and now new renders of the smartphone are surfacing.

Yesterday, Android Police reported new renders of what looks like the all new Moto E. The smartphone looks quite similar to the first generation but this time running on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The biggest drawback of the original Moto E is it doesn’t have a front-facing camera, but Motorola has put in the same, in the updated Moto E. Although, the new Moto E will not have the front-facing speaker. The rear camera doesn’t have a flash which is a bummer but would be getting a secondary microphone, which would give better audio while recording videos.

Moto E 2nd Gen Specifications

The new Moto E will allegedly feature a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) LCD display. The smartphone will be powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor along with 1 GB of RAM. The current Moto E has 4 GB of internal storage but we hope the successor gets at least 8 GB of on-board storage with an option of expanding it up to 32 GB via microSD card. The new Moto E will obviously run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

On the camera front, it is expected to have the same 5-megapixel rear camera, which doesn’t come with a LED flash either. The smartphone is rumoured to be LTE enabled along with dual SIM capabilities like the current version. We don’t know about the exact pricing yet but it will cost around USD 115 (INR 7,000).

Motorola will be bringing budget 4G LTE smartphones in 2015 and looks like the new Moto E will be the first one to come out of the closet in the near future.
