According to Mr. Sachin Naik, a designer at XOLO, which is a sub-brand of Lava itself said, “Also its our 1st Android One design completely in-house including ID.” When the first batch of Android One smartphones came out in September last year, it was totally conceptualised by Google. There was no involvement of the Indian OEMs in case of design and development. But, the second gen Android One has been manufactured in collaboration with Lava and MediaTek on both the hardware and software side. The new smartphone will have improved specifications (mid-range) and also an optimized OS (Android Lollipop) with applications and services co-developed by Google and Lava.
