Motorola to launch Moto Turbo in India on March 10. The Moto Maxx teased by Flipkart would be launched as Moto Turbo in India.


Motorola is about to launch the Moto E 2nd Gen (2015) 3G variant on March 10 which will be exclusively sold on Flipkart. The Motorola India website also indicates that the Moto Turbo in India is also coming soon and most probably would launch on the same day (March 10) as the new Moto E. There is no indication of the price yet but rumour suggests “it will be worth it”. Let have a recap of the specifications of  Moto Maxx aka Moto Turbo in India.

The Moto Turbo features a 5.2-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display which has 565 ppi and also comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by 2.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) processor with 600 MHz Adreno 420 GPU. The smartphone comes with 3 GB of RAM and has 64 GB of internal memory which cannot be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the near future.

The Moto Turbo comes with a 21-megapixel auto-focus rear primary camera with dual LED flash and has f/2.0 aperture. It is also capable of recording 4K videos. On the front, it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The new beast from Motorola is 8.3-11.2 mm thick because of its curved body and weighs 176 grams. It is also water-resistant.

The Moto Turbo includes 4G LTE/3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (dual band) a/b/g/n/, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, GLONASS and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a whopping 3,900 mAh battery under the hood which promises up to 48 hours of battery life with above average usage. The Motorola Turbo Charger also promises eight hours of power in just a 15 minute charge.

The Moto Maxx / Moto Turbo is available in Black Ballistic Nylon colour variant and has been priced at 2199 Brazilian Real which is INR Rs 48,100 approximately based on current conversion rate. However, it is expected to launch at a competitive price exclusively on Flipkart on March 10, 2015.
