Motorola, now a Lenovo company, had promised that all the Moto smartphones will be upgraded to Android Lollipop but they were a bit slow compared to the last KitKat update. Recently, the Moto X (2nd Gen) and both the Moto G (1st and 2nd Gen) were updated to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Now, the company is soak testing the update for Moto E in India.
Before the Android Lollipop update came to both the Moto X (2nd Gen) and Moto G (1st Gen and 2nd Gen), they were soak tested in India at first, to squash out all the bugs before public release. Likewise, now the Moto E is being tested in India with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
The soak test for Android Lollipop will be available in India for users who have registered in the Motorola Feedback Network Program and will become the first to taste Lollipop on their Moto E. If you’re not a part of that fortunate group, don’t be worried, as OTA update link will most likely be captured and you can try it yourself in few days.
If the soak test goes smoothly, the OTA update will roll out within a couple of weeks. The new ROM would be tested for a period and based on the public usage the company would be fixing any necessary bug which can cause trouble to the mass.
Recently, new renders of the Moto E 2nd Gen was leaked and it is on its way. Also, the company re-entered China with three new Moto phones.
