Motorola launches Moto E4 and E4 Plus with metal body running on Android 7.1 Nougat OS

Lenovo-owned Motorola has announced its latest budget smartphones called Moto E4 and E4 Plus today. These budget devices are made up of metal for a premium feel and they run on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat OS. Lets have a look at their specifications, features and pricing below.

The Moto E4 features a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD 2.5D curved glass Full Lamination IPS display, which has a pixel density of 294 PPI. It is being powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 64-bit processor along with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded further up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box.

The Moto E4 boasts of a 8 megapixel primary rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and 71-degree lens. It can record HD 720p videos. There is a 5 megapixel fixed-focus front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, 74-degree lens and LED flash for taking selfies and making video calls. It supports both Single/Dual SIM (depending on region), comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. It has a metal body, which is 9.3mm thick and weighs 150 grams. It has water-repellent nano-coating for water resistance, like most other Motorola phones.

In the connectivity department, the E4 includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and NFC (optional). The smartphone packs in a 2800mAh battery (removable) with support for rapid charging (5/10W).

It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal memory, which can be expanded further up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box.

The Moto E4 Plus rocks a 13 megapixel primary rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and 78-degree lens. It can record Full HD 1080p videos. There is a 5 megapixel fixed-focus front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, 74-degree lens and LED flash for taking selfies and making video calls. It supports both Single/Dual SIM (depending on region), comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. It has a metal body, which is 9.55mm thick and weighs 181 grams. It has water-repellent nano-coating for water resistance, like most other Motorola phones.

In the connectivity department, the E4 Plus includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and NFC (optional). The phablet packs in a 5000mAh battery (non-removable) with support for rapid charging (10W).

The Moto E4 is available in Fine Gold and Licorice Black color variants for US $129.99 (INR Rs. 8,382 approximately) / €149. It will be an Amazon Prime Exclusive Phone and a Verizon version will be available as well. The Moto E4 Plus is priced at US $179.99 (INR Rs. 11,606 approximately) / €199 and comes in Blush Gold, Iron Gray and Oxford Blue colors. There is no information about their roll out details yet. Motorola has recently launched the Moto Z2 Play.
