Microsoft to unveil new Windows 10 devices at an event on October 6

Microsoft is all set to write the big chapter in their mobile products category. With Windows 10 released, the company is ready to showcase the software with some new hardware. Microsoft has finally sent out invites for an event in New York City on October 6.

The invite reads, “We have exciting news to share about Windows 10 devices,” however, the company is expected to announce the much awaited Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL flagship devices, Microsoft Band 2 and a new Surface 4 Pro tablet.

Microsoft Lumia 950 rumoured Specifications

The Lumia 950 will feature a 5.2-inch (2560 x 1440) WQHD OLED display which will be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit processor. It will come with 3 GB of RAM and have 32 GB of internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card. It will run on Windows 10 out of the box.

The smartphone will rock a 20 megapixel PureView rear camera along with a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It will have an Iris scanner (infrared) for Windows Hello.

It will pack in a 3,000 mAh removable battery under the hood and come with Qi wireless charging and a flip cover. On the connectivity front, it will rock a USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth, GPS and more.

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL rumoured Specifications

The Lumia 950 XL will feature a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440) WQHD OLED display which will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor. It will come with 3 GB of RAM and have 32 GB of internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card. It will run on Windows 10 out of the box.

The smartphone will rock a 20 megapixel PureView rear camera along with triple LED flash. There will be a 1mm silver ring inside the circumference of the black camera pod and aluminium side buttons. On the front, there will be a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It will have an Iris scanner (infrared) for Windows Hello.

It will pack in a 3,300 mAh removable battery under the hood and come with Qi wireless charging and a flip cover. On the connectivity front, it will rock a USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth, GPS and more.

Both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL is expected to come in Matte White and Black polycarbonate body. An optional Surface Pen can come with the Lumia 950 XL, which can be used to write or draw on the screen.

The Microsoft Band 2 is all set to come with a new design that has more focus on aesthetics whereas the Surface 4 Pro is expected to be powered by the latest 6th Gen Intel Skylake processor, Windows Hello based biometric login and more.
