Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL launching in India this December

Microsoft announced their new flagship devices – Lumia 950 and 950 XL that runs on Windows 10 out of the box back in October. They are coming to India by next month.

Today, at the Future Unleashed 2015 event in Mumbai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has confirmed that their new flagship mobile devices will hit the Indian market by December 2015. The company has also announced that their latest Surface 2-in-1 device – the Surface Pro 4 will also launch in India but by early next year (January 2016). However, there was no mention of the Surface Book – Microsoft’s first in-house laptop.

Microsoft Lumia 950 Specifications

The Microsoft Lumia 950 features a 5.2-inch (2560 x 1440) QHD AMOLED display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a pixel density of 564 ppi. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor along with Adreno 418 GPU. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and has 32 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. It runs on Windows 10 out of the box.

The Lumia 950 rocks a 20 megapixel PureView rear camera with triple RGB LED flash, ZEISS optics and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It can record 4K videos. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. The front shooter is capable of recording 1080p videos. It has a Dual SIM variant (region dependent) as well. It is 8.25 mm thick and weighs 150 grams.

On the connectivity front, the Lumia 950 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type C port. It packs in a 3,000 mAh removable battery under the hood that supports wireless fast charging with flip cover. You can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes. It also comes with liquid cooling technology to cool down the device. The Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 Dual SIM is available in Black color.
