Microsoft will be launching the Lumia 640 and 640 XL in India officially on April 7. The media invites are being sent out for the event, which will be held across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The Lumia 640 is expected to be priced at Rs 9,999 and the Lumia 640 XL might come at Rs 13,999 in India.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD ClearBlack IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The smartphone is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with Adreno 305 GPU. It comes with 1 GB of RAM and has 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. It will be available in single SIM or dual SIM 4G LTE variants along with dual SIM 3G variant.

On the camera front, the Lumia 640 comes with a 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash. It has a 1 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It has a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM radio as well. The Lumia will run on Windows Phone 8.1 OS and will be upgradable to Windows 10 for free.
