Microsoft Lumia 550 was officially announced at an event in New York back in October along with the flagship devices. Starting today, the company has launched the smartphone in some of the European markets.
Microsoft Lumia 550 Specifications
The Microsoft Lumia 550 features a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720) HD OLED display that is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor. It comes with 1 GB of RAM and has 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 200 GB via microSD card. It runs on Windows 10 out of the box.
The Lumia 550 rocks a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.4 aperture and auto-focus. It shoots videos at 720p. On the front, it has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 9.9 mm thick and weighs 141.9 grams. It also comes with a Dual SIM variant (region dependent), has a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM radio.
On the connectivity front, the Lumia 550 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS/aGPS. It packs in a 2,100 mAh removable battery under the hood.
The Microsoft Lumia 550 is available in gloss white and matte black color variants and will be go on sale in select European markets starting today for US $139 (INR Rs 9,064 approximately). Also, according to Microsoft, it will go on sale globally “in the coming weeks”.
