Meizu MX5 has been finally unveiled today, at an event in China, as expected. Lets go through the specifications of the device.
Meizu MX5 Specifications
The Meizu MX5 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has 100% increase in NTSC colour gamut, 10000:1 contrast ratio and a brightness of up to 500 nits. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) 64-bit processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 16, 32 and 64 GB storage variants. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Flyme OS 4.5 on top of it.
The MX5 comes with a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 6P lens, Laser Auto Focus, Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor. It records 4K videos. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. The phablet is 7.6 mm thick and weighs just 149 grams. It has a full metal body with magnesium alloy frame along with mBack touch-sensitive home button, which offers different functions based on press. Also, comes with mTouch 2.0 fingerprint recognition technology for payments using mPay.
The MX5 includes 4G LTE (TD-LTE/ LTE-FDD), 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,150 mAh battery under the hood.
The Meizu MX5 is available in Silver, Gold and Gray colour variants and has been priced at 1799 CNY (US $290 / INR Rs 18,400 approximately) for the 16GB variant. The 32GB variant will cost 1999 CNY (US $322 / INR Rs 20,500 approximately) and the 64GB variant is priced at 2399 CNY (US $366 / INR Rs 24,622 approximately). It is now on pre-order and will be going on sale in China from July 5. However, there is no information on the global roll out yet.
