Meizu MX5 to sport ‘Full Metal Jacket’, launching on June 30

Meizu will be launching a new product on June 30. We are expecting the company to launch the Meizu MX5 along with Meizu M2, which was certified on TENAA in China.

Meizu has posted on their social media channels that the upcoming product will sport a ‘Full Metal Body’. The post reads “630 Born to Kill – J Wong’s Full Metal Jacket – Meizu Product Launch” will take place at China National Convention Center, Beijing on June 30.

Alleged pictures of Meizu MX5 has been leaked on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo for a while now. According to the rumours, MX5 will feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD display which will be powered by either octa-core MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset or the newly unveiled deca-core MT6769 Helio X20 chipset. It will reportedly come with two RAM options – 3 GB and 4 GB.

On the camera front, it will have a whopping 41 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 20 megapixel front-facing camera. Also, it will come with a fingerprint scanner for unlocking on the physical home button.

The specifications look solid for a 2015 flagship device but it will allegedly cost less than CNY 2000 (US $322 / INR Rs 20,450 approximately). We will have exact information on the Meizu MX5 on June 30.
