Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition has been launched in Europe. The smartphone was launched earlier in China in May.
The MX4 Ubuntu Edition has been priced at 299 Euros (US $335 / INR Rs 21,300 approximately) and will be available from today but with invite-only system in the form of an interactive origami wall on Meizu’s website. According to the officials, “The wall will be filled with fun and glimpses of the Meizu Ubuntu phone along with a number of invitations which will be randomly generated on a daily basis.”
Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition Specifications
The Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition features a 5.36-inch (1920 x 1152 pixels) IPS display with 15: 9 aspect ratio and 2.6mm slim bezels on the sides. The display has 85% increase in NTSC color gamut, 1100:1 contrast ratio and a brightness of up to 600 nit. It is powered by a 2.1 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6595 processor and runs on Ubuntu.
The device also boasts a 20.7-megapixel rear shooter with dual tone LED flash, 1/2.3″ Sony IMX 220 Exmor RS sensor, pixel size of 1.2 microns, two dedicated ISPs for 0.3 second focus speed, 20 second long exposure and 4K video recording. It has a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
The Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/g/b/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/GLONASS as connectivity options. It has a 3,100 mAh battery under the hood.
