Meizu, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced the Meizu MX4 back in September and today they have launched the Meizu MX4 Pro. For obvious reasons, the MX4 Pro is much more powerful than the MX4. Lets have a look at the specifications of the newly launched model.
The Meizu MX4 Pro features a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1536 pixels) 2K+ IPS display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display is made by a single-glass fully laminated technology and has only 2.8 mm narrow bezels on the side along with a pixel density of 546 pixels per inch. It is powered by a Samsung Exynos 5430 chipset with a quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A15 and a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU along with Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 16, 32 and 64GB storage variants but there is no option for expanding the storage via microSD. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Flyme 4.0 on top of it. Hopefully, it will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop soon.
The Meizu MX4 Pro comes with a 20.7-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with dual LED flash, which is Sony’s IMX220 Exmoor RS series sensor featuring f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel focus front-facing camera with 84.4 degrees wide-angle lens for better selfies and video calling. It is 9 mm thick and weighs just 158 grams. The smartphone also comes with Hifi Retina audio technology with EP21-HD earphones (might be sold separately).
The Meizu MX4 Pro includes TD-LTE/FDD-LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual band (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0/LE, NFC, a-GPS/GPS, GLONASS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,350 mAh battery under the hood. The MX4 Pro also rocks a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button much like the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus. The company is calling it mTouch and the sensor is also covered with Sapphire glass and has a stainless steel metal ring around it. The sensor’s response time is 0.5 seconds and it covers identification for 360 degrees.
The Meizu MX4 Pro will come in Grey, Silver and Gold colour variants and price starts at CYN 2499 (USD 410 or Rs 25,444 approximately). The smartphone will go on sale in China on December 6 and there is no word on International pricing or availability.
