Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones is now available to download. Microsoft always releases a technical preview version prior to the release of the full version. Users can try this beta build on their Windows phone. The company has also confirmed that they would be pushing updates to the devices having 512MB RAM also.
In order to download the new technical preview, users will need to get Windows Insider app from the Windows Phone Store and signing up for the same. But at present the Technical Preview is limited to selected devices only like the Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730, and Lumia 830.
This is beta software and hence can be very buggy. That’s why it is recommend to make a complete backup of your Windows Phone first if you are willing to try the Technical Preview on your Lumia device.
Few noticeable features in the Technical Preview are Full-Size Background Image which will let users customize the start screen with a full-size background image, an Enhanced Action Centre where Microsoft has the number of quick actions available to users, a powerful Photo App which will show the aggregated set of all your local photos and all your OneDrive photos and much more like Interactive Notifications and better speech-to-text capability. It will also feature the new browser developed by Microsoft.
The OTA update for the Windows 10 Technical Preview would start rolling in few months after the testing period is over and bugs are squashed.
