LG Watch Urbane Luxe, a 23-karat gold limited edition smartwatch powered by Android Wear has been officially announced, ahead of IFA 2015. It is a limited edition variant of the LG Watch Urbane announced at MWC this year.
This exclusive limited edition smartwatch comes with handcrafted alligator leather strap with a deployment clasp for a fitted and elegant look. To take things a notch higher, it comes in an exclusive piano-gloss lacquer case. According to the company, the 23-karat gold used in the LG Watch Urbane Luxe is stronger and harder than the usual 24-karat gold used in jewellery and also heavier than the 18-karat gold used in luxury watches. LG Watch Urbane Luxe Specifications
The LG Watch Urbane Luxe has a 1.3-inch (320 x 320) P-OLED display with 245 ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. The smartwatch comes with 512 MB of LPDDR2 RAM and has 4 GB of internal storage (eMMC). Its dimensions are 45.5 x 52.2 x 10.9 mm.
The Urbane Luxe is dust and water-resistant (IP67) as well and it can stay in water up to one meter deep for 30 minutes. The smartwatch rocks a 410 mAh battery. It runs on Android Wear OS and is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 and above. The Watch Urbane Luxe comes with 9-axis (Gyro/Accelerometer/Compass) sensor, Barometer and photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to measure heartbeats.
The LG Watch Urbane Luxe will come with a price tag of around US $1200 (INR Rs 79,600 approximately) when it goes on sale in USA by end of October. The limited edition smartwatch will be up for pre-order at jeweller REEDS by September. LG will be making only 500 limited edition units of the watch that will come engraved with its own serial number of authenticity. The company is expected to showcase this limited edition timepiece at IFA 2015 from September 4 to 9 along with the recently announced LG Rolly Keyboard.
