LG Watch Urbane LTE goes on sale in Korea on March 27

LG Watch Urbane LTE which was announced before MWC and showcased in Barcelona has been officially launched in Korea.


The LG Watch Urbane LTE will go on sale in Korea on March 27 via local carrier LG U + for 650,000 won (US $590 / INR Rs 36,500 approximately). There will be special plans for LG U + customers as well. According to LG, the Urbane LTE smartwatch will only be sold in Korea for the moment and there is no information on the global roll out yet. The LG Watch Urbane powered by Android Wear is coming to India by mid April, 2015.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE has a 1.3-inch (320 x 320) P-OLED display with 245 ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. The smartwatch comes with 512 MB of LPDDR2 RAM and it has 4 GB of internal storage (eMMC). Its dimensions are 45.5 x 52.2 x 10.9 mm. It comes with VoLTE voice calling support as it has a speaker and microphones. The smartwatch also gets NFC support for easy payments.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE is dust and water-resistant (IP67) as well and it can stay in water up to one meter deep for 30 minutes. The smartwatch rocks a 700 mAh battery which is significantly better than the LG Watch Urbane. It does not run on Android Wear OS but is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 and above. It will be based on LG’s proprietary wearable platform.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE comes with 9-axis (Gyro/Accelerometer/Compass) sensor, Barometer and photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to measure heartbeats. It has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and NFC as well.
