LG-made Google Nexus 5X now official, price start at USD 379

Google has announced the new LG-made Google Nexus 5X, as expected at a media event in San Francisco today. Lets take a look at the specifications and pricing of the new Nexus from LG that is the successor of LG Nexus 5.


Google Nexus 5X Specifications

The LG-made Google Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 (Quad 1.44 GHz ARM A53 + Quad 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 418 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes in 16 or 32 GB internal memory that cannot be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Google Now voice assistant is now always on and will work even when the screen is off.

The Nexus 5X comes with a 12.3 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55 micron sensor, f/2.0 aperture and Laser Auto Focus. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 9.7 mm thick, weighs just 136 grams and supports a Single Nano SIM. It comes with a fingerprint sensor named as Nexus Imprint on the back that can be used for secured lock, payments made via Android Pay, wake up the phone and unlock apps as well. It recognizes a fingerprint in less than 600 milliseconds, according to Google.

The Nexus 5X includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and reversible USB Type-C port as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,700 mAh battery under the hood.

The LG-made Google Nexus 5X is available in Quartz White, Carbon Black and Ice Blue color variants and has been priced at US $379 (INR Rs 24,981 approximately) for the 16GB variant and US $429 (INR Rs 28,276 approximately) for the 32GB model. It can now be pre-ordered via the Google Store in USA, UK, Ireland and Japan starting today and will start shipping starting this October. The company also launched the Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P today.
